Water Bodies Orchestra workshop at Tiber River, Rome

Water Bodies Orchestra

The Water Bodies Orchestra will perform a second pilot premiere at the shores of the Tiber River in Rome, May 14 2025. The Water Bodies Orchestra is a musical and embodied digital design project, aimed to unlock the sound archive of the Confluence of European Water Bodies, a growing community of activists, artists and academics representing over 25 water bodies – glaciers, lakes, seas, lagoons and rivers – in Europe. Through interactive group experiences, the human and non-human voices of the water bodies will come together in a performative moment. The Water Bodies Orchestra rehearsed and performed for the first time at the opening ceremony of the Confluence of European Water Bodies, 3 October 2024 in Venice.

The Water Bodies Orchestra is a concept by the Embassy of the North Sea/ Harpo ‘t Hart in collaboration with Venice Climate Change Pavilion / Letizia Artioli.
